Nintendo Pushes 30 Million Wii Consoles In The US

30 is the new 20? Not in this case. Nintendo will be celebrating its 30 millionth console sold in the US today beating out the PS2 in quickness. They did it 15 months faster than PS2 to be exact. As far as overall sales Sony is still wearing the hammer pants in this race.

“More than any other video game system in history, Wii has expanded the world of video games to new audiences,” said VP of marketing Cammie Dunaway in the press release. “This milestone is another reminder that people want fun games they can play with others – all at a value-minded price.”
