Schafer Regrets Kotick Comments

Just yesterday we published these scathing comments Tim Schafer said about Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. And now today Tim has a scary change of heart. He went back to Eurogamer for another interview and put it simply said “It was an accident.”

“I need to keep my mouth shut,” he said. “It is shocking how you really burn bridges in the industry. You start your own company and you don’t have to work for that jerky boss any more. Not naming names.

“Then it’s like Empire Strikes Back – you walk in the room and, ‘Holy s*** Darth Vader’s at the table.’ It’s such a small industry, you see the same people over and over again. No-one ever goes away.”

I need to keep my mouth shut? What did they do to this guy? What did they say to this guy? Activision really is becoming the evil empire day by day with news like this. My wild guess is he got his job threatened. Maybe he didn’t think Bobby could affect him, but found out quickly how much influence the Activision boss has. What do you think caused Schafer’s new comments?
