Capcom Blames The Earthquake For Ultimate MvC 3 Being On Disc, Seriously!

I’m pretty sure you’re all wondering why the recently announced Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a disc-based game rather than DLC but don’t worry the game producer Ryota Niitsuma has a totally logical answer, the earthquake did it!

Speaking to Destructiod at SDCC, Niitsuma had this to say;

After the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 there were plans to release DLC. But, as you know, less than a month after the game was released we had the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. That had an impact on everything, and it threw off our whole development schedule. We decided that instead of doing the DLC we could put it all together in one package, add some additional stuff to make it robust and deliver it as a disc.

I’m honestly surprised that Capcom didn’t also blame the earthquake for the cancellation of Megaman Legends 3, maybe the earthquake also leaked the the entire UMvC3 roster and ruined Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D at the very last moment. Now that I think about it, the earthquake probably stole my keys too, I’ve been looking for them all morning…

Update: I found my keys, they were in my pocket.
