Insomniac Games Goes Multiplatform With Overstrike

The developers behind Resistance 3 and the Ratchet & Clank series are going multiplatform with their latest game. That news wasn’t really new but the announcement that Insomnia would be showing their new multiplatform IP today was. Insomniac is at E3 with three games, the latest is Overstrike. Overstrike is a four-player cooperative spy-fi that follows a group known as Overstrike 9, made up of a ex-mercenary, a lifelong thief, a gifted young scientist and a decorated detective. Details are scarce but the trailer tells us that each character has a different set of moves and abilities.

“Overstrike presents a unique blend of features that have long been a part of the Insomniac DNA: high powered gadgets, action-heavy gameplay, memorable characters in a deep and mysterious universe and of course a touch of humor,” said Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games. “And since this is our first multiplatform game, we’re especially excited to introduce ourselves to a new audience — one which may not have experienced our previous games.”

The trailer is all CG but it looks cool. This looks to be a great introduction to those that aren’t familiar with Insomniac’s catalog of games. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
