It has been quite some time since we have seen Rayman in his natural habitat: platforming games. Luckily, Ubisoft is abondoning the Rabbids for now and is devoting their Rayman resources to creating another platforming Rayman game. The original Rayman game saw its debut on the first Playstation, and Rayman 2: The Great Escape got the 3D treatment and is often regarded as one of the best 3D platformers. Since then, we have gotten two other entries in the main series with decent success. Hopefully this new Rayman game can capture the magic of the original and be unique and innovative enough to compete with the other platformers of this generation (ie: Nintendo games.)
The game will feature full drop-in drop-out four-player coop, and will be releasing on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii on November 15th, 2011. You can get your portable Rayman fix next year on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, releasing in March of 2012 tentatively.
