Nolan North Says Ubisoft Should Adopt Uncharted Like Motion Capture For Assassin’s Creed

I remember seeing Nolan North at the Eurogamer Expo this year. During the conference in which he was speaking of working on Uncharted 3 with Naughty Dog, he spoke of the behind the scenes excitement at acting out all the different scenes with Drake and the other cast of the Uncharted series. Well now Nolan North has gone as far as to suggest Ubisoft adopt the same kind of motion capture process for Assassin’s Creed. For those who don’t know, Nolan North also voices Desmond in Assassin’s Creed. Speaking with CVG he said the following:

“I wish it wasn’t done separately,” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, the mo-cap actors do a great job, but there will always be somewhat of a disconnect when it’s done this way. After my experiences on the Uncharted franchise, where the actors do both performance and voice, I can honestly say there is absolutely a difference.

“The cut-scenes are shot exactly like a film or television program. The actors interact more naturally and unique and subtle elements to the performances are captured. Don’t think for a minute that gamers don’t notice. They’re a savvy bunch.”

Do you agree with Nolan? Do you even notice the difference? Let us know your thoughts. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is out now, so go get it.
