(Updated) The Original Crysis Is Heading To Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Next Month

UPDATE – I just got a press release from EA detailing the release of Crysis on consoles. It turns out the game is be a downloadable title and will be available for £15.99 ($19.99) or 1600 Microsoft Points sometime in October. The press release also revealed that the game will be running on Crytek’s Cryengine 3 and will only contain the single player part of Crysis. That means you wont be able to play the multiplayer from Crysis which went by the name Crysis Wars. Stereoscopic 3D support will also be included.

EA and Crytek have just let the world know that a console version of the much-loved PC killer Crysis is on the way. The news came via a Gametrailers.com exclusive trailer which showed Crysis running on the Xbox 360 and revealed the game will be shipping with a little more than the original PC version of Crysis had including “all new Nanosuit controls” and “all new effects”.

Which roughly translates as improvements to the game engine (no big surprise) and console friendly controls, but having played and completed the original Crysis on PC with an Xbox 360 controller I don’t see what they had to improve. I guess we will have to wait and see when the game ships sometime next month. Oh that’s right. The game is coming out next month. Talk about springing a surprise.

Debut trailer is below.
