After a brief hiatus, rapper/producer Hit-Boy returns to the scene with a new track titled “New Chains (James Somersett)“.
Remixing Kanye West’s Yeezus track “New Slaves“, the former G.O.O.D. music artist tackles the politico-rap song with his own style by spitting about being a slave to the materialism in the music game.
Although Hit-Boy’s charisma does stand-out on the track and the images in the video just emphasize his point, I doubt his style will really change.
We haven’t seen much more from the young rapper other than the same generic themes, so this remix isn’t really ground-breaking.
