Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus Announced, Out This Fall

Yesterday, Sony sent out a cryptic tweet with an image attached and the tagline “When Worlds Collide” highlighted. Earlier tonight, further information leaked and this phrase was revealed to be a part of the campaign for the next Ratchet & Clank video game titled Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus. The official announcement trailer can be seen above in all its glory.

Insomniac revealed that Into The Nexus will be the final installment in their ongoing future storyline of the series and that it will launch this fall on the PlayStation 3 for the suggested retail price of $29.99. Below is a brief statement on the game’s narrative along with an image of what could become the boxart.

After one of the most infamous manhunts in galactic history results in the capture of Vendra Prog, Ratchet and Clank offer to escort the dangerous criminal to the Vartax Detention Center. After a daring orbital jailbreak at the forgotten edge of the galaxy, Ratchet and Clank find themselves lost in an abandoned sector. There, in deepest space, they uncover an inter-dimensional event that threatens the universe—and forces Ratchet to decide what’s really important.

After taking a glimpse at the trailer, I’m sure many fans will be wondering if Into The Nexus eventually makes it’s way onto the PlayStation 4. While all of these details still remain unclear, I’m more than certain that Insomniac is most likely working on a next-gen Ratchet & Clank title instead. However, the bigger question now is will everyone be eager to pick this game up knowing that the PlayStation 4 will be out around the same time? Ultimately only time will tell but even at the unbeatable price of $29.99, I think it will be hard for alot of people not to pick this up.
