Assassin’s Creed IV Gets A Second Trailer

After numerous rumors and leaks, Ubisoft has finally revealed Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in a formal presentation today. The event also announced new features for the series and details about the new protagonist, Edward Kenway, were revealed.

The new lead character is Edward Kenway, a British sailor who has now turned pirate and is the father of Haythem Kenway from Assassin’s Creed III. The game deals with tales of betrayal and revenge in 18th century Caribbean and will focus on how piracy functions in the islands.

Creative director Jean Guesdon announced that the game will be fully open world but some areas will not be accessible until you have upgraded your ship to withstand certain terrains. It was also announced that famous pirates will be making an appearance in the game such as the infamous Blackbeard.

At first I was wary of there being another Assassin’s Creed game so soon after the last but once again I have been pulled back in after seeing these trailers, hopefully the game will take more inspiration from the fantastic AC2 and Brotherhood and not the disappointing AC3.

What do you think of the second trailer? Let me know in the comments below.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be releasing later this year for the Xbox 360, PS3, Ps4, Wii U and PC.
