Final Fantasy Versus XIII Rebranded?

The long awaited Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been rumored to have been rebranded into the 15th installment in the Final Fantasy franchise.

As many of you who are big Square Enix fans already know, Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been in the works for quite some time. The game has been in development since around the same time as Final Fantasy XIII and was originally announced during the 2006 E3 event.

Based around Square Enix’s Fabula Nova Crystallis universe, Versus XIII has been eagerly anticipated by many, but the recent rumors indicate that it not only might be rebranded, but might also be done away with altogether.

Square Enix promises a major announcement at their upcoming E3 event next week in Los Angeles. On June 11th, a 9AM press conference on the “Future of Final Fantasy” is expected to shed further light on the future of the franchise. There may be a revelation over these Versus XIII rumors and even a confirmation of a PS4 sequel which many have been hoping for. A teaser trailer for their new next generation engine, the Agni’s Philosophy, was released at last year’s E3 event and by the looks of it, any news on a Final Fantasy game for the next generation of consoles is perfectly fine by me!
