Freedom Cry DLC For Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Is Coming Dec 17

Ubisoft have today announced that Freedom Cry, the new DLC for Black Flag, will be available on December 17.

Freedom Cry contains 9 new story missions and is a totally self-contained story in the universe, the DLC will be $9.99 or ‘free’ if you have already purchased the season pass. Freedom Cry will be coming to PS3, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, the DLC will not be coming to the Wii U.

Here’s the official description of Freedom Cry:

“Set 15 years after the end of Black FlagFreedom Cry stars an older Adewale, who has since stepped out of Kenway’s shadow to become a seasoned Assassin and valued member of the Brotherhood,” Ubisoft communications manager Gary Steinman wrote. “When the DLC begins, Adewale is shipwrecked in St. Domingue (modern-day Haiti), where he comes face to face with some of the most brutal slavery in the West Indies. As he makes his way through St. Domingue, Port-au-Prince and the surrounding seas, Adewale will counter the abominable cruelty festering in the region with his own ruthless justice, delivered via bloody machete, powerful blunderbuss — and while aboard his fearsome brig Experto Crede.”

I think it might be best to wait for the reviews on this one before spending $10, even though I gave Black Flag a great review I’m not sure that the missions are necessarily its strongest point. Hopefully Freedom Cry is good, it’s always nice to play as a new character to mix things up a bit and if you are looking for an excuse to get back into the game then I’m sure that Freedom Cry is a great excuse to do it.
