Square Enix Reveals Murdered: Soul Suspect

Square Enix has revealed a new title named Murdered: Soul Suspect and is expected to release on the current gen systems. You can find the reveal at its teaser site here.

“Murdered: Soul Suspect is an exciting new game from Square Enix which challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all,” the statement reads. The representative also confirmed that the title would launch on PS3, 360 and PC.

On the teaser site a hidden image has been found, which contained the description “Detectives aren’t supposed to get bloody knuckles, but I’ve done a lot of things I wasn’t supposed to do, I lived through it all, the beat-downs, the back-stabbing, disrespect most people wouldn’t see in ten lifetimes and I never lost a fight… until now.”

The hardest case to solveUnfortunately this is all the information available at the moment, and not even the development team is known. When asked for more information Square Enix responded “We cannot confirm the developer at this time. More info to come!”

Releasing a new IP so late into a console generation is certainly an interesting move. Normally you would wait a little bit to release it on the new consoles, that way you can establish a new franchise for the console. However, until we have more information about the game anything we say is guesswork.

How does the game look to you? What do you think about starting a new IP so late in the generation? Let me know in the comments below.
