Kojima: Phantom Pain Is ‘Hundreds Of Times Larger’ Than Ground Zeroes

Hideo Kojima has revealed that The Phantom Pain’s game world is hundreds of times larger than that of Ground Zeroes’.

Thanks to a translation of Kojima’s Twitter by Siliconera, we get a new insight into both Metal Gear Solid V games:

“GZ is both a prologue to the MGSV story and, at the same time, a tutorial for a new MGS, which transitions to sneaking simulator, with that said, GZ has a relatively small field as compared to the main game (which is hundreds of times larger) without time zones changing in real-time. However, each mission offers different time zones with different play styles.”

I really look forward to the new entries into the Metal Gear Solid series, Ground Zeroes is meant to be a prologue to The Phantom Pain, sort of a demo in a way. Kojima has described it as a training exercise for people to get used to the controls before the main game. Hopefully the game will live up to the extremely high expectations that they have, especially after that amazing looking E3 demo!

Let me know in the comments if you are looking forward to Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, are you disappointed by the news that GZ will be so much smaller?
