The Playlist | #10 (Childish Gambino, Lecrae, Lupe Fiasco, and more)

Welcome to week 10 of the Koalition’s weekly Hip Hop podcast, bringing you the dopest recent releases.

Big KRIT has dropped a mixtape of cutting floor tracks and his recent collaborations to garner some buzz before his album Cadillactica releases this November. “What’s Next” and “Drinker’s Club” ft/ Juicy J, Rittz, and ASAP Ferg are a couple of the more impressive cuts and they make the Playlist this week. If you couldn’t tell already, I’m a big fan of KRIT and Cadillactica will be a treat to hear.

In an underground Hip Hop super move, Brooklyn groups Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers have come together as Clockwork Indigo and they’ve dropped their first track collectively, “Butterfly Effect”. The track is a moody posse cut that gets me excited for the full release from this fresh tandem.

Artist Lecrae dropped his album Anomaly recently and it’s a pretty solid listen. This particular track is an older one by the artist, but it’s a good introduction to him and the featured King Mez. “Lost My Way” is the song of the week and will hopefully be a catalyst to get you listening to two incredibly talented guys you most likely haven’t heard of.

Rounding out the Playlist is Lupe Fiasco with his (as usual) attention grabbing track “Pu$$y” ft/ Billy Blue. The beat and hook are nothing to phone home about, at all, but Lupe once again pens a couple verses that will make you wonder if he’d be on top of the game if not for the constant antics.
