The Playlist | #9 (Brother Ali, Schoolboy Q, Rittz, and more)

Week 9 for rhymes. Another Monday, another ill compilation.

Setting this week off is TDE’s very own Schoolboy Q sharing the mic with his (and one of my) favorite emcees of all time, Nas. Q’s hit single “Studio” has been burning up the airwaves and Nas chose this opportunity to announce his new project is on the way. His verse isn’t anything exciting, but “Studio (Remix)” is a banger nonetheless.

Rittz is on the list for a consecutive week with “Bounce”, another track from his impressive album Next To Nothing. We’ll be discussing the full record on the next Knights of the Turntable podcast, so stay tuned.

Capping off The Playlist with the Video of the Week is one of the best to ever do it, Rhymesayers artist Brother Ali. Featuring Bambu and newcomer MaLLy, Ali drops a brand new track titled “Home Away From Home”. The track serves as promotion for his Home Away From Home Tour that just may be coming to a city near you.

Childish Gambino, Saba, Gitta Thomas, and more all make appearances this week, including a surprise remix of Sam Smith’s “I’m Not The Only One” featuring ASAP Rocky. Check it out and let us know what your favorite (and least favorite) cut is. Also, feel free to share tracks you think should make the list next week. Hit the comment section down below!
