Watch Metal Gear Solid V’s TGS Trailers in English

During this year’s Tokyo Game Show, we got to see a lot of new footage from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The trailers showed us some of the new characters, environments and gameplay mechanics. It was all really cool stuff but since they were all in Japanese, it was hard to make out what was happening in them. This is no longer the case as two of the trailers are now in English so that everyone can understand what’s going on.

This first video is one which I speculated on a lot since we got a bit of a tease for it two weeks ago from mister Hideo Kojima himself. The sniper, Quiet, flies into Big Boss’ Mother Base and is almost killed by his men when Miller orders them to shoot her. Boss puts a stop to it and has Quiet sent to the prison. It turns out that she saved the Boss’ life but Miller doesn’t trust her and since she knows the location of MSF, he believes that she needs to die. Boss agrees but thinks that now is not the time. The video ends with him saying that when the time comes for Quiet to die that he’ll kill her himself.

The next video has another one of Big Boss’ companions. This one isn’t a human like Quiet however. It’s a wolf named DD. The video shows DD as a puppy who seems to have taken a real liking to Big Boss. After a time jump, we see the wolf all grown up and ready to be taken on missions. Like Boss, he has an eye patch to cover up his missing peeper.

It’s great to see footage of the game as we Westerners will experience it. The voice acting is top notch as always. It’s still a bit weird to hear Jack Bauer voicing Snake but Kiefer Sutherland does fit the role perfectly. It’s also cool to hear Troy Baker as Ocelot.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released on the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 in 2015.
