Take-Two and 2K Sports will not be making another MLB game and have removed any mention of their previous MLB 2K games from their websites.
The announcement leaves Sony’s MLB The Show as the only high profile basketball game left on the market, which is a big blow to Xbox baseball fans.
A representative for 2K Sports had the following to say over the news:
“We have decided not to renew our MLB 2K series for 2014. We are very proud of the achievements made by the MLB 2K team and look forward to their contributions to our future titles, including NBA 2K — our industry’s #1 rated and #1 selling basketball franchise.”
It is very strange that they would delete their Facebook pages and any mentions of the previous games from their websites. Just because you’re not making a new one doesn’t mean that the old ones don’t exist anymore. This whole scenario strikes me as a contract deal gone sour.
