Late last night, Microsoft Studios VP Phil Spencer sent out a very cryptic tweet in which he mentioned that a new game would be revealed to the world later on today. This intriguing tweet can be seen embedded below:
Personally going to be a good day tomorrow, looking forward to a games announce coming early in the morning, fun part of the job.

Shortly after this tweet was sent out, Crackdown 2 development studio Ruffian Games decided to build upon the suspense and sent out a tweet of their own.
Morning! Feels like a good day for announcements doesn’t it?

While these tweets don’t outright confirm that Crackdown 3 is the game that will be announced later on today, recent interview sessions with Phil Spencer may prove to solve this mystery before it’s revealed. Spencer has said on many occasions that the Crackdown series has always been a personal favorite of his and he never once indicated that the franchise was over.
I also wrote an article earlier this month on 14 games that will be revealed in 2014 and added Crackdown 3 as one of those games. Of course, there is also a chance of this game being a completely brand new IP instead. Luckily we won’t have to wait too much longer for an answer as the reveal is scheduled to happen sometime later on this morning.
