Ultracon of South Florida was held at the Broward Convention Center in South Florida in July 2014. The convention has grown immensely within the past few years, where it was originally held in the Sheridan Suites in Fort Lauderdale. This time around, the bigger venue allowed for not only more vendors to be present in the dealers room, but also allowed for some very cool displays of toys and collectibles, as well as more attendees to hang out with everyone.
Over the course of the weekend, four costume contest were hosted with prizes ranging from a brand new PlayStation 4 to $300 in cash. Many of the outfits that competed were impressive and showcased a lot of creativity among cosplaying attendees. With a gorgeous backdrop outside the convention hall that was Port Evergaldes, as well as the wide open space within the Ultracon festivities, cosplayers had a lot to work with when taking pictures and doing photo-shoots throughout the weekend.
The convention itself was a great success with an overwhelming turnout of attendees. There was a lot to see while roaming around the halls of the convention and plenty of eye-candy to share with the world. Here are some of the awesome things we saw while attending Ultracon July 2014.
