Uncharted 4 Game Director Leaves Naughty Dog For Riot Games

Earlier today, IGN released a report in which Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond confirmed that he has left Naughty Dog to persue a job with Riot Games. Below are a few quotes from his interview:

“I have decided to leave Naughty Dog. I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward. On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration, I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of.”

Richmond’s departure is the second major blow to the Uncharted franchise after Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog earlier this month. He was responsible for directing both Uncharted 2 and 3 over the course of the last several years. Riot Games is the talented studio behind the popular League of Legends video game and there is no doubt that Richmond will be extremely valuable to them moving forward.

Many diehard Uncharted fans many overlook this fact, but the series just simply won’t be the same without Hennig and Richmond’s involvement. Druckmann and Straley are very much capable of making a stellar Uncharted experience, but how much different will it be from what we are already accustomed to? Luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out.

Uncharted 4 is rumored to launch on the PS4 early next year. Are any of you still looking forward this game? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
