Xbox One Getting External Hard Drive Support In A Future Update

Microsoft have today announced that the Xbox One will be getting external hard drive support in a future update.

Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer for the Xbox announced the news over at Xbox Wire and said:

“We know external hard drive storage is another big one on your list. It’s on our list too. We’re working on that for a future update and will keep you posted. We’re also working on friends notification improvements and experimenting with how to make that better.

“Just as we do with Xbox 360, we’ll be continuing regular updates to Xbox One – some will be big, like this March update, and some will be smaller. Big or small, we’re committed to delivering continuous innovation through system updates like this one. Thanks for your feedback.”

It is nice to know that external storage will be an optional available soon, some people were disappointed with the 500GB limit on the Xbox One so this will come as great news to them! Microsoft are impressing me with their ability to listen to the audience, something they must of learnt to do the hard way after their E3 press disaster.
