Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition Will Not Support Larger Phones

According to a recent update on Bethesda’s blog, it seems that the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy that comes in the collector’s edition won’t fit larger phones. According to the Bethblog, the Pip-Boy will include foam inserts that fit the iPhone 6, iPhone 4/4s, iPhones 5/5s, and the Samsung Galaxy 4 and 5. Due to an attention to realism, however, larger phones (iPhone 6+, Samsung Notes presumably) will not be able to fit inside the device.

In addition, using the customizable foam insert you should be able to fit most other popular smartphone devices.  As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device.  For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available.

This is actually some pretty disappointing news, especially considering the fact that mobile phones only seem to be getting bigger. While realism is a nice tough, it’s still a bit disheartening knowing I personally can’t use it (I’ll still be getting it because duh, Fallout).

Should you have a small enough phone to fit in the Pip-Boy, good luck snagging one of the editions. They are currently sold out in North America, and when they do go on sale, it’s usually sporadically, and they seem to sell out almost instantly.
