Nintendo has just released their update for Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U. The update itself not only has balances to every character on the roster but also adds a few extra options to purchase DLC content for both versions of the game. Yet in the midst of the Mewtwo rollout today, another diamond may have been discovered in the rough of data on the update for Nintendo 3DS.
According to a report on Nintendo News, one fan of the series managed to decrypt the files of the update and posted his findings on Reddit. What he found may have been a premature reveal of plans to bring more new characters out as DLC for Super Smash Bros. In the decrypted files are sound clips that are labeled with the names of Roy from the Fire Emblem series, and Ryu from the Street Fighter series.
While this is no real official confirmation about these characters being made available for the game, the info surrounding this may very well be plausible. In the same group of data, other sound files for confirmed DLC characters Mewtwo and Luca, from Earthbound, were discovered alongside the surprising sound data. Nintendo has yet to make any official comment on the matter (they probably won’t…). but we will update you as more info comes out about this.
What do you think of the possibility of Ryu throwing fireballs in Super Smash Bros? Happy that Roy has a chance of showing up in the game as well? Leave us a comment below and let us know how you feel!
