/// Tretton: PS Vita Came Out When People Felt Like They Didn’t Need a Dedicated Handheld!
Asked how he feels about the PS Vita in hindsight, Tretton said:
Now that I don’t work there anymore, I think internally it was: ‘This is a great machine, it’s just too late.’ The world has shifted to portable devices that aren’t dedicated gaming machines.
After bringing up how he thinks the PlayStation Portable was incredibly successful and brought a console-like experience to older gamers, Tretton added, “Vita was a nice machine at a time when very few people felt like they needed a dedicated portable device.”

Multimedia company Vivendi has been soaking up Ubisoft shares for the past year in what is almost certainly an attempted hostile takeover of the French video game developer and publisher. Vivendi completed its takeover of Gameloft earlier this year and Ubisoft seems to be next in the firing line.
However, Ubisoft is fighting back. Venture Beat is reporting that Ubisoft has signed a deal with the investment bank Bpifrance to purchase back $137.5 million worth of Ubisoft shares, which amounts to 3.625 million shares.Top of Page
