Overwatch: Tips For Using Every Character

Roadhog Tips

Roadhog

Role: Tank
Summary: Roadhog is a bodyguard and an international criminal. He uses his signature Chain Hook to pull his enemies close before shredding them with blasts from his Scrap Gun. He’s also durable enough to endure heavy amounts of damage and can also self-heal.

Roadhog Tips

  • Roadhog’s hook makes him perfect for sabotaging flankers and harassers. Stick close to your support allies like Mercy, Zenyatta and Ana to help take some heat off of them when they are being focused.
  • Focus on hooking those annoying Tracers, Pharahs and Genjis because other heroes may have a harder time targeting them
  • Always make sure your Scrap Gun is reloaded before hooking someone. The worse feeling is hooking someone and being unable to fire on them immediately because you forgot to reload
  • In a Two-Roadhog faceoff, try not to be the first Roadhog to hook the other unless they have low health. This is because they have enough health to survive both your hook and your Scrap Gun blast, so they will likely counter you. On the other perspective, if you have been hooked by the enemy Roadhog, always remember that you can hit them with a shot from your Scrap Gun as you’re drawn into them. Your timing has to be precise here
  • With Whole Hog, the knock-back effect is more useful than the damage itself. You can either use it in more confined spaces to increase the overall damage, or use it to knock enemies back from a point
