I don’t know about you, but a Fred Sanford heart attack describes what happened to me when I first saw Ryu going head to head with Kazuya. PlayStation Vita To Release Fall 2011. Will Cost $249 and $299

Nintendo and the 3DS will have some serious competition this year in the battle for handheld supremacy. Sony’s next gen portable has officially been named the PlayStation Vita and it looks amazing. Not only does it look great, but the price seems to be just right as well. Joystiq has reported that the PlayStation Vita will cost $249/€249/¥24,980 for the wi-fi only version and $299/€299/¥29,980for the 3G enabled version. So do you agree that the price is perfect for Sony’s new handheld machine?

Mass Effect 3 Will Support Microsoft Kinect Through Voice Commands

Microsoft’s E3 2011 conference placed a lot of emphasis on games supporting Kinect and Mass Effect 3 is one of those games to use the device in an unique way. Mass Effect 3 will utilize Kinect by allowing players to read choices during conversations instead of just pressing a button during dialog. Also, Kinect will enhance the actual gameplay of Mass Effect 3 by allowing you to give verbal commands to your team during gameplay. I for one instantly thought of Socom 2 on the PlayStation 2 when this feature was made known. What do you guys think about Kinect Support for Mass Effect 3.

Halo 1 Remake Coming to Xbox 360 This Fall.

There aren’t too many game franchises bigger than Halo and its about to get a little bigger. If you were not lucky enough to play the game that started the revolution on the original Xbox, on November 15, 2011 an HD remake of Halo will be available on the Xbox 360. The remake of Halo will have all the original multiplayer maps ready for online play this time around and will include online co-op campaign play. You won’t have to spend $60 dollars to experience a classic, the game will retail at $40 dollars.

Nintendo’s E3 2011 Conference Will Be Held on June 7, 2011

Sony and Microsoft have already made the dates of their E3 2011 conferences known (Sony: Monday, June 6, 2011 at 5pm PST; Microsoft: Monday, June 6, 2011 at 9am PST) and Nintendo will follow the day after on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 9am PST.

With the release of the 3DS earlier this year and the announcement of their new console “Project Cafe“, I expect Nintendo to be the company that brings the most excitement to gamers at E3 2011. Would you agree or do you think Microsoft and Sony have a couple of show-stoppers up their sleeves as well?

Mass Effect 3 Is No Longer a 2011 Game of the Year Contender

Easily one of the biggest games of 2011 is now coming a little later than expected. EA has announced that Mass Effect 3 will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in the first quarter of 2012 instead of the holiday season this year. EA promises to make Mass Effect 3 the best game out of the trilogy and the extra time to work on the ME 3 may insure that is the case.

EA CEO John Riccitiello also stated during a recent investors call that “Bioware is adjusting some of the gameplay mechanics and some of the features, which we’ll see at E3, that can put this into a genre equivalent of shooter meets RPG, and essentially address a far larger market opportunity than Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 began to approach.” Anyone care to translate John’s comments?

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Taste of Escalation Trailer

May 3, 2011 is a date to have marked down in your calendars. That is the day the Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation DLC releases for the Xbox 360 and it looks to be one of the best pieces of extra content available for any game this generation.

Peyton Hillis Upsets Michael Vick To Become The Madden 2012 Cover Athlete

The verdict is in. Peyton Hillis is on top of the Madden universe. This year’s Madden cover was the first in the game’s history to feature a playoff style vote from 13 million fans to determine the cover athlete. Peyton and Mike went through some tough competition, but in the end only one man is left standing.

In my opinion, Michael Vick may not have won the fan voting this year, but he has solidified his place in the NFL as one of the most popular athletes in the game today by making it to the finals. With that being said, congratulation to Peyton Hillis of the Cleveland Browns and good luck avoiding the Madden Curse.

F.E.A.R. 3 Delayed for the Third Time

Originally scheduled for a Fall 2010 release date, then delayed until March 22nd, then delayed until May 27th, F.E.A.R. 3 has once again received the Lupe Fiasco pushed back treatment and is now set to release on June 21, 2011. F.E.A.R. 3 looks to be a solid summer time title and I hope these delays have contributed to an even more polished title.

Hulu Plus Reportedly Coming to Xbox Live This Friday

Official Xbox Magazine has confirmed in the June issue of its magazine that Hulu Plus will be making its way to Xbox Live on April 29th. Hulu Plus will only be available in the United States and will cost $7.99. In a genenrous fashion, the first month of Hulu Plus is said to be free so take advantage of the service as soon as it goes live.

inFamous 2 Allows You To Create Missions and Share Them With The World

With so many quality games coming out this year, it’s easy for a few of them to get swept under the rug. That won’t be the case with inFamous 2 though, because in my eyes it just jumped right into position to win game of the year in 2011. The reason why is because inFamous 2 joins LittleBigPlanet and ModNation Racers as games that allow you to play, create, and share infinite levels.

Gamers will be able to create missions for everyone to play, and the best content will accessible throughout the single-player world. A closed beta for inFamous 2 is set to begin sometime in April with sign-ups for it starting on March 14. Gears of War 3 Coming on September 20, 2011

Microsoft’s biggest game of the year finally has a release date and its earlier than expected. The last two Gears games were released in the second week of November, but Gears of War 3 will be available on September 20th this time around. September is usually a month dominated by a Halo release, so Microsoft must have a big exclusive to release in November to lead them into the holiday season. Don’t you guys think so?

DJ Hero Series Gets Canceled Along With Future DLC Plans

Guitar Hero and True Crime: Hong Kong were not the only games announced to be scrapped during Activision’s investor conference call yesterday. It is now known that DJ Hero is going to the gaming graveyard and beyond March, there will be no new DLC for DJ Hero and Guitar Hero games.

Activision’s reason to for getting rid of these games is simple; the money wasn’t coming in. They plan to take their losses and invest new cash into products that gamers want. Personally, I think this could be a good thing and the money will be used to make the Call of Duty series a franchise of unquestionable quality. That or they will keep the same formula for the next 5 years and have COD join Guitar Hero and DJ Hero in the dark abyss.

P.S. Tony Hawk games canceled too, but that should have happened 5 years ago.

Dragon Age 2 – Champion Trailer

If you need help deciding what class your character in Dragon Age 2 will be, this trailer may help a little bit. Warrior, Mage, and Rouge are the classes to choose from and they each bring unique abilities to the battlefield. I’m leaning towards being a Warrior so I can be up-close and personal with my enemies. DC Universe Online to Offer 3-month $29.99 Subscription Plan

DC Universe has generated a lot of interest over the last couple of months, even becoming Sony Online Entertainment’s fastest selling MMO game. With that being said, the price is still a turn off for a lot people. In order to add a little more appeal for potential buyers and current owners, DC Universe will temporarily offer the Legends Plan, a $29.99 3-month subscription plan. The new price rate will be available on February 8th and can be locked in full time once you make the purchase once. That’s plenty of time to decide if your going to invest the cash into DCUO. I just might.

Cloud Game Saving Possibly Coming to the PlayStation 3

Have you ever made it halfway through a game only to come back to realize that the save file is missing or corrupt and you don’t have a backup save? This issue could be a thing of the past for many PlayStation 3 users as Kotaku has reported that PS3 firmware update 3.60 will include the ability to save games to an online server. The only downside to this is that it’s supposedly limited to PlayStation Plus member only.

Batman: Arkham City Trailer Teams the Joker up with Batman [Leaked]

If you’re lucky enough to watch this leaked (possibly fake) trailer of Batman: Arkham City before Warner Bros sues everyone, you’ll see why Arkham City may easily become the best comic book game of all time. This trailer shows Batman and the Joker teaming up taking bad guys out left and right and if real, possibly hinting at Arkham City’s inevitable co-op mode. Check the trailer out below.
