Joe Budden goes back to his roots and drops off a freestyle full of lyrical sickness. This is the mixtape Joey that I first fell in love with (pause?). I’m not sure he’ll ever outdo himself by going in like he did on Dumb Out, but this track is certainly the best display of lyricism I’ve heard from him in a while.

I guess when Joey said “I’m not watching the throne, I’m sabotaging it” he meant it, as he flows over the Watch The Throne intro song, doing a much better job than any other attempt I’ve heard previously (*cough*RossandMeekMill*cough*).

*Yawn* Nicki Minaj’s gimmick is getting way past old now, but people really enjoy her music videos. In the Stupid Hoe video you can expect to see the same old bullshit rehashed, and while it looks pretty you might wish to do what I did and watch it in mute. I have only heard Stupid Hoe once and even then I didn’t manage to finish the song, I don’t intend to hear it again.

As someone who slightly enjoyed Pink Friday, I’m begging Nicki to give us something different. Some day she’ll get older and her adorable looks won’t do it for everybody any longer, I’d like to think when that day comes she’ll have something more to offer. I may sound harsh, but if you speak to any of my colleagues they’ll tell you about my not so secret crush on Nicki Minaj (Which goes beyond looks) and that’s why I wish she would drop the gimmick and make music.

When Jay drops a song, it’s usually from a new body of work. But the birth of his and B’s baby daughter Blue Ivy Carter has Jay so inspired that he released this very random song to celebrate her life. Congrats once more to the happy couple.

If only the millions of parents giving birth today would each release a song, Hip Hop would be so alive.

New Music: 50 Cent Feat. Jeremih – Girls Go Wild [First Single From New Album]

Following a lengthy delay, the first single from 50 Cent’s upcoming album has finally made it’s way online. Unfortunately after the awesomeness that was The Big 10, this song feels like a major step back for Curtis. This is one of the worst songs he has ever recorded, even worse than his original first single I’m On It.

At this point, 50 should just scrap his album entirely and continue releasing mixtapes for the streets. I don’t think he has it in him to make another In Da Club or I Get Money so why keep trying?

50 Cent continues with his consistency and drops another video for his Jahlil Beats produced cut from The Big 10. If Curtis keeps this up then I don’t see any reason for people to sleep on his next album. Clearly people love to hate on Fif, even when he’s on a roll; but hopefully this album run will be a lot better than the previous.

This new tape features Loso rapping with the likes of Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss, Styles P and Meek Mill, along with the usual Street Family affiliates. I consider this to be one of many Birthday/Christmas gifts to myself, cheers Fab and Drama. .

Martains Vs. Goblins is perhaps one of my favorite tracks from Game’s R.E.D album, so it’s nice to see him and Tyler hook up to create some visuals for their wacky collaboration. Too bad Weezy didn’t make the final cut because he looks like a Martian and Goblin fusion.

When Carl Daniel sent me an iMessage informing me of the first single from Nicki Minaj’s sophomore LP I was hoping it would be a heat rock. Unfortunately instead of being hot, this track sounds like a hot mess. It starts off kind of ok, but then it just gradually turns into random gibberish with no structure. How this manages to be the first single of your sophomore LP is completely baffling, and this comes from somebody who enjoyed most of Nicki’s first album by the way.

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is scheduled for February 14th 2012.

P.S Rappers please get off The Thrones dick immediately!

Our favorite indie artist Jowin has returned with a sequel to his popular Cosplay Girl song which dropped in 2010. The first song was a hit within the gaming community, spreading across a number of video game blogs. Part two carries on the cosplay theme but with a significantly different sound. Whilst the beat has a very oriental sound, that baseline gives the song a sound that Hip Hop fans can identify with along with all the Otaku’s out there. Did I mention the eye candy?

Styles P’s fourth album Master Of Ceremonies is probably my favorite album of the year (so far) and here is the second single from the album featuring Rick Ross and Busta Rhymes. I’m not sure why this song was chosen to be a single as it’s not very radio friendly but I’m sure the streets will love it. Earlier this week Shady Records caused a frenzy on twitter with their BET Cypher which featured verses from Eminem, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf. Now two days after the airing, here is the raw audio from that infamous session minus the annoying crowd cheers.

So who had the best verse? I personally think Royce came the strongest (Hi Rihanna!) with Eminem closely followed behind him but it’s a close call. If you’d rather watch the cypher check out the video here, courtesy of The Epic Network (Bye Rihanna!).

Ehh… here’s a new Jay Electronica song (remember him?) featuring Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Why am I posted this garbage? Because as the cover and song title suggest, it will apparently appear on Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Jay-Elec has been hyping this song on twitter for the past day or so, claiming that “It will bring New York City to a standstill” which is what will probably happen if this ever gets played in a club. After leaking the song, Jay promptly deleted all tweets relating to it presumably after an angry call from someone at Activision.

Regardless, check out the song for yourself. Jay Electorica’s album will be in stores the same day Dr. Dre releases a follow up to Detox.
