The Co-op Podcast 58: Can a Female lead in GTA work?

Jakejames Lugo takes over hosting duties on this episode of The Co-op podcast as our regular host couldn’t make it. Richard Bailey Jr. Jakejames Lugo and I had many interesting discussions including Dan Houser’s quote about the masculinity in GTA 5. As gamers we would love to see a female protagonist in a GTA game, but Houser’s quote suggests that the story has to make sense for it to happen. But with the touchy stigma surrounding women in video games and how they are portrayed, can a female lead in GTA work? – Let us know what you think, and check out Richard Bailey’s article based on this subject.

We also discussed Sony’s reveal of both the PS Vita TV and the new PS Vita 2000. We breakdown what makes these devices appealing to us. Will you be buying one?

We also list some of the new games announced for all Playstation platforms, including Soul Sacrifice Delta for PS Vita, Phantasy Star Nova for PS Vita, and Yakuza Ishinfor PS4. We also speak on the new details regarding Capcom’s PS4 exclusive Deep Down.

Other games mentioned include Kingdom Hears 1.5, Final Fantasy XIV, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and more.

This week we featured music from an artist known as Big Now, who has been a long time supporter of The Co-op podcast. The song featured was called Bring Me Back.

If you’re an indie artist who want’s their music played on the show then send us an email. The song should be completely original, including the beat.
