Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 is Coming June 9thNew update will big things to Episode Duscae...
Square Enix is releasing a patch update for everyone who downloaded the Final Fantasy XV demo, Episode Duscae. The patch, which includes changes based off feedback from fans, will be available for everyone on June 9th at 11am EST/ 8pm PDT. This release date was revealed in a new Square Enix Japan Active Time Report, which brings updates and news on all of their big titles.
The video stream also gave some insight into the development of Final Fantasy XV, including showing off lighting effects, character AI, and all the beautiful texture work and level design from the team. Some interesting bullet points from Director Hajime Tabata and Marketing Manager Akio Ofuji were the removal of a female heroine known as Stella, who some may remember from past demos when the game was first known as Versus XIII. Stella has now been replaced with a new female heroine named Luna, whose backstory and details have yet to be revealed.
Also confirmed by Tabata was the decision to skip E3 2015, and instead have a stronger showing of Final Fantasy XV at GAMESCOM in Germany. This was due to the lack of time to present a new trailer with fresh content according to Tabata and his team. But this may be for the best, as everyone would like to see even more new things from the game. This was also decided because Tabata and his team would have an easier time including important fixes to the frame rate and combat for when patch 2.0 is released.
And speaking of new stuff, both Hajime Tabata and Akio Ofuji teased some never before revealed concept art for a character. From what was shown, many on the stream believed the concept art to be of Noctus’ father, the king alluded to in the tease at the end of Episode Duscae. Hajime Tabata promised that more details about the concept art, and the game, will be revealed as GAMESCOM draws closer.
Mentioned and shown in a video during the Active Time Report, patch 2.0 for Episode Duscae will bring new party interactions between Noctus and company, new attacks for Noctus, and more dialogue. More enemies will appear on the landscape for Noctus and crew to battle, including the giant monsters that roam around the lakes that were otherwise inaccessible before. There is no telling how strong they will be, but judging by their size, it maybe be a very tough and long fight.
