Mad Max Delayed Until 2015

Earlier today, Avalanche Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that their upcoming Mad Max video game won’t be hitting stores until sometime next year. In addition to this news, they also released a brand new trailer of the Magnum Opus, Max’s new vehicle in the game. You can have a brief look at the clip above.

Mad Max was first revealed during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference. Shortly after that media briefing, I had a chance to see more of the game behind closed doors and wrote up an extensive preview about the presentation.

Truthfully, Mad Max still looked like it was early in development when I saw it and the extra time needed now will be crucial to it’s overall success later. One could also make the argument that this game is being delayed so that launches right around the same time as the next film in the series. Mad Max: Fury Road stars Tom Hardy and will hit theaters on May 15th, 2015. Given the fact that most major game releases come out in May, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see in stores the same month.

Are any of you disappointed to hear that Mad Max has been delayed until 2015? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
