New Silent Hill Game From Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro Announced During Gamescom

Earlier today, Sony announced a playable demo for something called P.T. which could be found on the PlayStation Store. This was announced in a rather mysterious fashion and now we know why. It turns out that this P.T. or “Playable Teaser” is actually a trailer for a Hideo Kojima helmed Silent Hill game. Kojima loves to pull these sort of stunts (remember how Metal Gear Solid V was announced?) so it’s not surprising that he would want the game revealed in a roundabout why like this.

Those who download the demo are treated to a trailer which begins with someone talking over a black screen. Later, we see a man walking down a foggy, abandoned town. The man turns to face the camera and we that it is none other than The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus. The trailer ends with the word “Silent Hill” which then becomes “Silent Hills.”

This would explain why we have seen so many pictures of Kojima together with Reedus and Guillermo del Toro (who is also producing the game). We don’t have much information on this game for now so stay tuned for more as it becomes available.
