Rockstar Editor Lets PC Owners Create Grand Theft Auto V Machinima

Nearly a year and a half after its original release, Grand Theft Auto V is finally coming out for the PC. This version of the game isn’t just bringing fancier graphics to the table, however. This edition will feature the Rockstar Editor, a tool which will let players create their own cinematic (and no doubt chaos-filled) masterpieces.

With a button press, players will be able to record gameplay footage on and off mission; both online and in single player. The Action Replay feature captures the last few moments of gameplay. This is particularly handy after you do something really cool.

The Editor has a slew of editing tools. Players will be able to add, arrange, trim, add text, string together multiple clips, and add in-game music (from radio stations or from the score) inside of the project timeline. There are various camera modes, filters, audio mix adjustments, and more.

Director Mode lets players create moments from scratch. Here you can select a GTAV story mode character or animal, location, time of day, weather pattern, or even modifications like explosive punches and low gravity.

Players will be able to share their work with the world by uploading to YouTube or the Rockstar Games Social Club.

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will be released tomorrow.
