Sonic Boom Revealed, Wii U and 3DS Game From Western Developers

Sega has announced a new entry into the Sonic franchise with the reveal of Sonic Boom, a Wii U and 3DS game being developed by Western developers.

Check out the reveal trailer embedded above to see the strange new look of the Sonic characters, there’s some very weird proportion changes going on!

The Wii U and 3DS versions are being developed by separate developers, the Wii U version is being made by Big Red Button using the CryEngine and the 3DS game is being made by Sanzaru Games. The games will be different but both are based on the new Sonic Boom TV show that will begin to air ‘2014/2015’.

There’s not much more to say about that, personally I think the trailer looks visually great but then again most Sonic trailers do. What it will come down to is the gameplay and that is something that 3D Sonic games have often struggled with. Hopefully the game will once again bring some respect back to the Sonic franchise, although with the characters looking like that; it might already be impossible.

Let me know in the comments below what you think about Sonic Boom and the trailer, hopefully we get a release date for the game soon!
