Telltale Reveals The Walking Dead Season 3

On Sunday afternoon, Telltale dropped the ball on the long-awaited third season of The Walking Dead and when we can expect to see the next chapter in the much-loved game based on the graphic novel. Lucky for us, we only have to wait a little bit longer, as the first episode of the third season is set to drop this fall. Unlike the second season, which had a small time frame between it and it’s predecessor, season three is a leap of several years.

It is confirmed that Clementine is in her early teens, making it at least a three or four-year jump from Season Two. She was eight years old when we first met her, and eleven when we last saw her. Following the gruesome events of Season Two (I think no matter how you play it, it’s a Game of Thrones style slaughter for everyone’s play through), it’s clear Clem will be changed forever. She’s gone through hell and back, and now back into hell again, venturing further into finding a place to be safe, and survive.

The male figure shown with her at the end of the trailer is a young gentleman named Javier. Javier will also be playable in Season Three, and has a similar dark, rough past like Clem’s. Telltale claims “this is a new story as much as it is a continuation of Seasons One and Two.” Season Three will focus on Clem growing up, becoming a strong independent woman who don’t need no man, and continuing to hold out for herself in this apocalyptic zombie-filled world. It is hinted that there will be a new gameplay element introduced in how you play as both Clem and Javier: “Exactly how that works is one of the exciting details we’re not quite yet ready to reveal.”

If you’ve never played The Walking Dead, Season Three will be easy for you to jump in story-wise, but if you have played the previous two seasons, your decisions will carry over and effect the story line in the new season. Even though the first two seasons will run you about $24.99 each, I highly recommend picking them up.

What decisions did you make in your playthroughs? What do you want to see from Season Three? Fire off in the comments below!
