Toxikk Debut Trailer | All Frag, No BS

Frag like it's 1999

No leveling. No cover systems. No reloading. No regenerating health. NO BS.

These are but a few of the tags used to introduce the world to the new Reakktor Studios developed arena FPS, Toxikk. In an effort to bring skill back to the FPS genre, Toxikk is taking hold of foundations set by classic arena shooters like Unreal Tournament and shaking things up. Every player starts on equal ground with a pistol and melee weapon with stronger weapons and vehicles scattered about the map. With this, there’s no loadout customization of any sort and any mods made to your avatar are only of a cosmetic nature. Survival of the fittest is the basis of arena shooters and this newcomer seems to fully embrace that.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, with Reakktor having a strong foundation set for the title going forward including things like user generated content and diverse maps. Toxikk also kicks the free-to-play format that has become ever popular and touts PC exclusivity because of mouse and keyboard superiority.

I recall my obsessive days with Unreal Tournament with classmates (School computers for academics? Nah) and can’t wait to give this game a shot. Pun intended. Once the Early Access arrives late this year, I’ll be ready to frag like it’s 1999.
