A very interesting read. - it's always nice when someone is as passionate as you about a mere game. Snake is just the ultimate badass - not cus he's comes out with banterious lines or wields a big machine gun or gets the girls or whatever makes a typical badass, it's cus he can take a beating. Like Tony from sopranos says "what ever happened to Gary cooper - the strong silent type" - snake just gets on with his job, doing what he believes is right having no pretension about who he is and his place in the world. He doesn't bitch or moan, he just feels and after mgs4 I genuinely felt sad at the news of his imminent passing. As much as the story comes to a nice end (not tying up all the loose ends but leaving the viewer appeased) the screaming fan boy in me wants a miracle cure for snake and 10 more games, though I'm aware how this could potentially ruin the game :s. A small criticism of this article though is that you didn't focus enough of the game play features enough. The environment you forced to revisit, the weapon and item systems, small querks like meryls codec and breaking 3rd wall tricks, and the whole sneak aspect. 10/10 on everything you said though, and as u mentioned you didn't want to bore the readers, but when it comes to the story of mgs you'd do well to bore me!!!

Personally, I've found Metal Gear Solid to be the greatest story ever told period. I've read a lot of books and watched a lot of movies. Movies are actually my favorite, but to me Metal Gear Solid was the most powerful and relevant story I've ever experienced. By relevancy, I mean it's a fictional story that reveals much about current struggle of the American Heart as well as Japanese. And how the two intersect is very special to see happen.
