Uh no, they are still there. 1/3 of IW went to Respawn entertainment to create a ''CoD Killer'' and the other 2/3 will be making MW3 and will be released Q1 2012.

They moved the (remaining) employees from IW to a new studio called Sledgehammer Games. Would Sledgehammer Games really continue work on another studios franchise? I feel that this is unlikely, but not entirely impossible either. Also (I may be mistaken), was Modern Warfare 3 ever officially confirmed by Activision? A game that wasn't officially confirmed can't be officially cancelled.

Star Fox and RE) or they don't need to be made or can't be made (ex. Halo frickin Kinect? and COD MW 3) Kinect is for shovel ware. It's dug it's own grave with that.
