Sorry argus…clearly says "not connected to any of the earlier castlevania games." And as it takes place at the "End of days" it couldn't be a prequel of any kind. As far as why call it castlevania?? 14+ final fantasy games excluding the portables and none of them (save x and x-2) had anything to do (story wise) with the other titles with exception to a few key game elements. This game has the castlevania elements (or seems to) could it have been called something different? yea. but game companies like to build on established franchises if they can. Less risky

Of course they are going to fill in the links and back story to things like the vampire killer whip's existence, the belmont decedent line, why dracula's hosts have the blood of the ____ family from the gba games, and more. It is a prequel, not a new ip. There have been 3D CV games on the ps2. This isn't new territory.

Its called Castlevania because its a prequel to the original games that has every element of a Castlevania game besides 2D side scrolling.

The Lords of Shadow are vamps along with dracula… and Castlevania games have never been vampire character heavy.

Is like God Of War/Devil May Cry/Shadow Of Colossus/ with the story vibe of an Oblivion game made by Kojima, this is looking nice.
