Why would anyone hack in a stupid video game like C.O.D. Is it really worth it knowing you could get arrested for doing so?

In reply to Way to go activision. The problem is Activision has pretty much given up on trying to block or ban the hackers. So they just began adding their own "legal" hacks (lightweight, marathon, etc...) so everyone can cheat to some extent. But it's just made matter worse since the hackers now use legal cheats in addition to their illegal cheats. Black Ops is totally out of control at this point, the single most compromised game I've ever seen!

First of all jackass… Treyarch does not own Call of Duty. Infinity Ward created and owned the franchise until Activision purchased the studio along with all COD copyrights. So Activision owns the franchise and both studios. Treyarch had nothing to do with COD until Activision assigned them as the alternate /backup developer to Infinity Ward.

Second, this kid attacked and crashed the system of a multi-billion dollar corporation and disrupted service to millions of users. Now this may be difficult for your tiny leet brain to grasp but… in the real world, there are these things called "laws". I know it just sounds crazy but when someone breaks a "law"… they usually get arrested.

Please, do everybody a favor… stop playing video games. It's the millions of douche bags like you who ruin gaming for the entire community. Just go away, you're not welcomed anymore!

Awesome, Game companies should be able to have these people who hack games online brought to some kind of justice, it is about time the game companies got enough balls to do something about it. Hackers are annoying pieces of garbage. Maybe if the game companies have more people held responsible for ruining and exploiting there work, Online gaming might be hack free someday. And then everyone will have to take the time and get good at a game instead of paying some punk to make a bot so they look good to there friends.

Oh Dear! people were not able to play black ops for 2 days??? c’mon guys, get a life.. wherever there is a way to hack games, people will hack them. I play socom on ps3 and the game is full of hackers and cheaters and they have ruined it almost totally, but unfortunatley sony seem helpless against the hackers and cheaters..

lets face it, games are just games and not being able to play them for a couple of days just means you get to play something else or better still, go out and get some fresh air!

time to take a reality check and i dont mean a virtual one either! lol
