I remember back when XBL came out, it was $60 or $70 bucks a year, I don't think it's a big deal.

See if sony would have fought against xbl harder then we wouldve had a price drop but sony justified the $50 service by making ps plus.

None the less while i dont like the increase it makes sense because of 2 reasons

1.Inflation

2.XBL has got alot better since the original $50 price was set

Considering how much Microsoft makes off Xbox Live subscriptions this isn't a total shock. There were countless rumors in the past that the price would drop, but it never did. Now making the decision to raise this cost by $10 dollars is going to conflict with the new paid online policy offered by most games.Of course, alot of people will buy a game new regardless, but for those who buy it used and want to play online they will now have to pay 10 bucks plus an additional 60 to renew each year. At this point question becomes should I buy a game or buy xbox live? Also Playstation Plus is now cheaper then Xbox live and really I don't get why they would bother to raise the price when there will be nothing else added to the experience. To answer your question, No I'm not renewing at that $60 pricepoint. I'd rather buy a whole bunch of of 12-month cards at $39.99 and save them for renewal time.

To answer your question..no I will not renew my subscription…I have a one month card left and that's it..I'll use that and start my ps3 fund soon..the money that would've been spent on Xbox Live should help with this fund.
