Whilst I agree this is milking. I actually think it’s a good idea from Activision. They could have been assholes and paid everyone a subscription just to play the game online. But instead they’re offering a service here, and it’s geared right towards the hardscore COD gamers who treat it almost like a sport.

I definitely won’t pay for this, but I think it’s a great idea. And yeah Bungie have been doing it for free, and mad props to them for that. But Activision can make COD fans pay for anything, so why not.

A***holes.

They know this game is going to sell well so they’re going to milk it for all its worth. Unfortunately milking is common practice from many other companies (Capcom, Ubisoft, 2K, Bioware) but I still think its a sleazy practice to leech as much as they can from the same consumers that happily supported them for years on end and who called themselves fans of these companies.

That’s mainstream gaming for you.
