I find this sad that people take stuff this small in a huge, immerse game so seriously. Just because one homeless character is black does not make the game racist. There are black people who are homeless today, of course there will be tomorrow. I have played through much of the game and I feel it portrays high amounts of realism. Square Enix put great amounts of different angles for the game, especially for the NPC opinions of current events about augmentation.

Why can't people just ignore stuff like this and realize it never was something to make a big deal about. I am ashamed that people are offended by the smallest things such as this. There is much more pressing matters in the world now than one homeless black person in a video game. If you care that much about racism, then do something about it in real life.

I hope people can understand my point at least, even if they don't agree with it.

A long rant by,

@Damon Then I'm afraid you're missing out on a great experience, because of one character that you talk to for about 5 minutes in a 20something hour game. And besides... it might be considered racist, but there might still be people in 2027 that speak with that particular accent. I agree that this is a very tired stereotype, but it doesn't hurt anyone.

I am 39 and i have been playing video games since the commodore 64 days. If a game portrayed a member of the Jewish or Asian community, you can bet that it would be viewed as racist from the moment the game went into testing, regardless of how members of these groups are portrayed in the rest of the game. Is Square saying that during the testing of this game that no one pointed out that this black homeless character could not be portrayed in a way that would have been less obviously offensive.
I love video games. I will not be buying this one.
