The new system doesnt have a period you can play all the way to level 20 no problem.

I think they might also be removing some of the other restrictions as well. There used to be chat and trade restrictions among other things. However, since they are marketing this as the “WoW Starter Edition” it would seem to me like they are opening the game up more in general.
