I agree on the Ellen Page bit, she was pretty bland in Inception and her acting isn't something to look foward to in this game.

This is not the spiritual successor to Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain did not use supernatural violence as a crutch. It did not have game over screens (presumably this one does or there can be no conflict). It was a revolutionary game in terms of having 4 protagonists that could die and the story would continue. Beyond is a massive step backwards. Beyond also seems to be delving into political and religious aspects which Heavy Rain did not do, and I have no trust at all that David Cage has acceptable political or religious views. The vast majority of Heavy Rain players will be turned off by these.

It's silly to say I will definitely enjoy Beyond just because I loved Heavy Rain (even completing it in a single sitting). I do not want a game full of choreographed QTE fight scenes. I do not want supernatural nonsense. I do not want to control a depressed little girl becoming homeless and attempting suicide repeatedly. I do not want to be on the run. I do not like Ellen Paige at all. With Heavy Rain you didn't have to like any of the characters to like the game, here you must love Ellen or it will be insufferable.

I will definitely be buying Beyond, but it's looking very unlikely at this point that it will be anywhere near as jaw droppingly good as Heavy Rain. I'm predicting 70% review scores.
