Truthfully, I wish they would just have left it at the first game. Personally, I fear Square Enix is going to build a lot of hype and then release a confusing, poorly written spin off like they did the last time. XIII’s story line is okay but not memorable. It’s hard to find it entertaining when 99% of the plot points only happens in one of the worlds and you have smaller sub plots that don’t even relate to the main plot. Likewise, the lack of character development and the the goal to aim this game at an audience that will only play this game because they played the previous ones and/or they’ve never had any experience with J-RPGs I fear will make this another bland addition to XIII.

If it does get released, it better change up the mechanics and take away the unnecessary need to find objects/do quests that are out of the blue. Otherwise, not interested. I demand Versus XIII, XIV, something Final Fantasy other, or the revamping of another series that is as popular as the Final Fantasy franchise.

I’m reasonably confident it will sell. The PS1 game Final Fantasy IX had
sales of over five million within a year, and that was released several
months after the PS2 came out. Keep in mind that this is coming out in Japan before the PS4 and only a couple of months afterwards for the rest of us.

I wish it was coming out this fall, it’s going to be hard setting up my PS3 again just to play this, when the PS4 and Xbox One would have already taken its place.
