I can not articulate how stupid this opinion is. For that I congratulate you.

Steam sales are bad for the industry and publishers know it. The only reason Steam can offer those attractive prices is because the attach rate for PC gamers isn’t as high as consoles, which means publishers need to give Steam players extra incentive to buy their games. But Steam are about to make the foolish mistake of entering the console space, and they will simultaneously shoot themselves in the foot. Once they put out the Steam box they will officially be on an equal playing-field with Sony and Microsoft, and I guarantee you Steam won’t be able to compete. Steam are effectively about to hand Microsoft the trophy by making this move.

No one can compete with Steam on that front, imo. This is a nice sale, but it’s lightyears behind what Steam is able to do on a regular basis. It will be interesting to see how things turn out over the coming years!
