I thought Sunshine was definitely a refinement of Mario 64, at least in terms of controls.

Sorry, I thought this was a preview of the multiplayer demo, not a full review of the whole game. My bad.

The grammatical errors for one. The fact that the writer is basing the games level design off of a demo and the sheer fact that this reeks of someone who hasn’t touched 3d world. I mean, these are all of the stereotypicalcoplaints I heard on message boards when this game was announced. Every personwho has played the game says that it was promising.

Why do you feel it is poorly written? I haven’t played it yet personally, but it seems like the writer offered his views and opinions on an experience he didn’t particularly enjoy by describing the demo in a pretty detailed fashion.

I thought he actually did a pretty good job expressing his point.

He showed that he really appreciated the work that they did with their creativity in bringing mario to the 3D world, charm and all.

As I read the first one, my reading comprehension snuck in and let me understand that when nintendo announced they were making a 3D mario Wii U game he was excited. Then when he found out that it was a multiplayer sequel of the 3DS game he got a little skeptical.

It seems all perfectly simple and well-written. Thank you for the article Carl. Your opinion is certainly helpful and I’ll be happy to keep it in mind when I look into the game and make my own opinion. =D

You know what else has been getting babier over the years? Sesame Street. I remember when Sesame Street was the shit back in the 80’s, but since then it’s been getting kiddier and kiddier. Its like all the makers of the show started caring about was the little kids market. We arent little kids anymore PBS! Stop ruining Sesame Street by pandering to children and get with the times, or you can kiss me goodby as a viewer.

Well, it actually says “refined”, not “redefined”. Still wrong. No one should give Sunshine that much credit. It’s actually a quite sad answer to the standard set by Super Mario 64 (which no platformers have since imitated successfully, so I would hesitate to say that 64 “defined” anything.)

First of all, Mario Sunshine ‘redefined’ the 3D platformer? Care to clarify how? Or are Mario games the only platformers that you have played over the years? Maybe that’s true, but I’m guessing that Sunshine was the one that you skipped.

Also, the first paragraph clearly states that the author was excited about the Mario game when he heard about it, but then he goes on in the second paragraph to express his initial cynicism.

Are there any salient points that were made? I have no idea what to think of this game.
