Hand holding? Fallout 3 was shit because of it. Difficult? Once you get Abraham lincolns repeating rifle, you're pretty much invincible. Lincolns deathclaws are weaker than damn bloatflies in fallout new vegas. And the main quest lasts only 3 hours.

Have you even played fallout New vegas?

Wants.
1. More snipers like the hunting rifle w/ scope
2. (Maybe) an option of bullet drop.
3. Just a gun rack, something to show off at home without the pain of moving it around.
4. More vivid environment, get the feel of an apocalypse (Green tint does not count)
5. Scarier environments
6. More game play DLC that have stories tie in together.
7. More funny moments.
8. Sniper battles (Just enemies can shoot at greater distances, you want challenge right?)
9 Emotional tie in the story (Not dramatic)
10 (This should be number one) Fix every freezing problems. Fallout New vegas was my favorite out of 3 and NV, but there were parts where it froze and I never could beat the game.
11. unique weapons that are actually unique, not just a scope and different color and name. That's not unique.
12. Joining a faction means joining a faction. Do missions with them and be involved in certain teams (Sniper team, etc etc) Not just having them like you. Mad in fallout 3 and new vegas how there were cool teams and you can't join, you don't even really join
the faction.
13. Have the map be bigger.
14, have missions where you need to camp out and hunt someone/thing (Or something similar)

Don't want.
1 Online
2. Buildings and environment that look the same.
3. Transportation other than feet.
4. Easy medical availability, in fallout 3 I can easily get 1,000 stimpaks without a problem.
5. short DLC (Cough cough broken hearts)
6. Required to have that speech skill to pass, (Like fallout, that's what I want, where it's a percentage change) Not a required chance

.In Fallout 4 they should work on a better engine for more life-like graphics. They should have way better character development and a better society to interact with (society development as well I guess). There should most definitely be more affect on the things your character does that aren't even quest related like random murders like police actually investigating into it if you aren't caught actually doing it (abilities to cover your tracks I guess too). Better stealth system too. One HUGE thing is somewhat like one of the points in the article, when you shoot/melee an opponent they seem to just keep shooting/hitting back, it would be BEAUTIFUL to see your shots have a real significant impact on them that is visual as well as physical (looks bloody and messed up, and limping (they already do limp but it doesn't seem real enough, they should fall over or be able to still function with a missing limb sometimes and like crawl away from you screaming with plenty of dialogue). Another thing is the affect of bear traps, yeah this is a very small aspect of the game but this one thing could help chain off multiple new ideas for realism, your character can just walk through them, maybe if you were actually caught in the trap and your enemies could hear you scream or the trap go off and started coming towards you, it would add a real level of fright to the game because you're trying to get out before they reach you. The leveling up system should be new as well, in Skyrim they did a tremendous job and Bethesda should model after it, (in Skyrim they have "one handed" skill and perks within that skill, in Fallout 4 they should have for example "handguns" (one handed guns, (sawed off shotgun, pistols, small smg's) and perks within that skill such as more damage per shot, faster reloading with them, more durable, more attachments able to be added on to them, etc.). I hope people agree with these ideas, they are my dreams.

I've looked at many forums regarding 'wishlists' for the next fallout game and I am surprised to see that almost nobody mentions vehicles. In the Fallout universe there are literally hundreds of old cars, trucks, semi's, and motorcycles full of potential parts. Yes, ok, gasoline would probably be really scarce, but why couldn't or wouldn't any wastelander at least try to get some transport working? The assault droids are self propelled, why not tear one of those apart for the power source, running gear and drive train to stick onto one of the hundreds of motorcycles rusting away in the wastelands? And wouldn't it be fun to crash though a group of raiders or ghouls on a tracked motorcycle or some other similar ATV style mount? Not to mention the endless hours of sometimes uneventful walking to get to some locations. Something else that could be fun? Fallout X-Games! Outrun the horde of Deathclaws! Superjump the village! Wasteland races! Just my thoughts.

I only disagree about the factions, in fact I would like more choices and deeper complexities revolving around factions! I loved that I could be a double agent in New Vegas and wished only that the factions interacted with varint questlines and storys more seamlessly. I certainly would like to see more Skyrimesque tones, especially in the levelling systems, and I would like to see a plethora of new baddies, both human and non. One thing I feel strongly about, though, is the tone of the game. Fallout has always been a slightly humorous series, but Fallout 3 came across as a little more serious than the others. Adding that humor back in tactfully is a must on my list. I loved both Fo3 and Fo:NV equally and actually struggle to pick one over the other. Both were very well done after bugs were fixed. I would like to see elements of both, but the majority of elements to be now and uncharted.

Id love for them to give a better hardcore and unforgiving feel to the game, ever since console games have became the norm, I feel like more games are less unforgiving, I understand there's people that want to "enjoy" their game without all the fuss of reloading a few times (and they should try and help both out), but I like to think about what im doing, for example "I hear moaning and wet footsteps behind this locked door, im running out of stimpacks, and one good whack and im done for, oh crap im out of bullets! Better put a mine or two, open the door and run for it!"

I loved FONV because every single quest (even the unmarked ones) had several ways you could go about completing them. You could do the bare minimum, you could go above and beyond that, or you could just shoot your quest-giver in the face, it was really up to you. FO3 had that, but to a lesser extent, and Skyrim had almost none of that (save the civil war quest).
FO4 needs ROMANCE OPTIONS! How can their not be love in a large wasteland filled with people?! Someone to protect and provide for would give the game a very human touch.

An overhaul to the sneak system is in order. In NV and 3, if I'm crouching in a room full of raiders, I'm invisible. If I'm standing in a room full of raiders, I'm dead meat. It is very unrealistic. Games like Far Cry 3, and Assassin's Creed 3 showed how slick a more organic sneak mode can flourish using foliage and other forms of natural cover to hide, blending into crowds, using disguises, etc.
HARDCORE MODE!!! We should be able to toggle individual things like thirst, hunger sleep, morale, and hygiene off and on for a tailored game experience. Perhaps things like shelter or outside temperature could factor in. After all, if you just swam through some mucky, irradiated pond, and you're soaked and cold, you're not going to be as happy and you would sitting around a fire by the trail, eating with a couple companions.
Lastly, post ending gameplay. It was very unsatisfying in NV, after 90 hours of shaping the wasteland into the place I wanted it to be, to simply getting a 4-5 minute slideshow, telling me I did a good job, I want to TASTE the fruits of my labor
READ THIS BETHESDA!!!

In NV and 3, if I’m crouching in a room full of raiders, I’m invisible. If I’m standing in a room full of raiders, I’m dead meat. It is very unrealistic. Games like Far Cry 3, and Assassin’s Creed 3 showed how slick a more organic sneak mode can flourish using foliage and other forms of natural cover to hide, blending into crowds, using disguises, etc.
HARDCORE MODE!!! We should be able to toggle individual things like thirst, hunger sleep, morale, and hygiene off and on for a tailored game experience. Perhaps things like shelter or outside temperature could factor in. After all, if you just swam through some mucky, irradiated pond, and you’re soaked and cold, you’re not going to be as happy and you would sitting around a fire by the trail, eating with a couple companions.

From a developers point of view, adding multiplayer to a game like Fallout which was never built to support online play would be incredibly hard and the bugs for that would be limitless.

I think many of you missed the reasons that factions were included and were so crucial to the storyline. The point was that you could play the game several times throughout and still never finish every story arc, which quadrupled the replay value. Also, 'checking the wiki's' to choose a faction is like reading the spoilers for a movie before you go to theaters and watch it.

I think factions need to be there. They've always been in the Fallout games. They should be back to their regular role instead of being the stories centre. It needs to be more of your character that is the centre of the story. I would love to bring back the scariness. I think Fallout 3 could be genuinely scary at some times.

Great examples Dakan but in the future could you please post a ***spoiler tag*** etc. in advance.I for one have yet to play the witcher 2. Yeah,I am one of those "types" of gamers lol. Love to be surprised and experience gaming events without prior knowledge or expectation when possible.

Next fallout? Simply put I would like the best of both fallout 3/new vegas merged harmoniously together along with some new additions, tweaks to the existing game-play mechanics, improved A.I.,keep speech checks in.bring back random encounters but add some more individual depth.

I prefer the overall atmosphere from Fallout 3,that is not to say I did not thoroughly enjoy New Vegas. There is just that "spark".

Keep and continue to improve weapon modding.

just a few things off the top of my head.

I cannot wait for the next fallout!!!
