Yes the PS4 and Next Xbox will launch with out-dated technology. But when I said that about the Wii U I was talking about consoles only. The only reason I even brought up PC was to state that it is my current preference. PC was never a factor in this debate.

You hit the PS4/XBOX720 being out of date at launch right on the money. I’m a PC gamer as well and have enjoyed maxing out and modding console games for years. Ever heard of Dolphin? Playing Wii games on PC in HD before WiiU! I’m not a kid but I bought a WiiU and enjoy playing off screen with the gamepad and I like how some games use the gamepad screen for inventory management and maps. It’s actually very practical when used properly.

The second guy says the Wii U launched with out of date technology, then goes on to say he’s a PC gamer. If that is really the truth, then he should know the PS4 and the next Xbox will both launch with out of date technology as well. The bottom line is this. Nintendo has their niche, and Nintendo could care less if they expand beyond their niche.

They’ve been reiterating that their competition is from smart phones and companies like Apple. This generations Nintendo was the iphone and ipad which parents bought for their kids instead of hand held devices like Vita and DS. Angry Birds became the new Mario. HD remakes of classic franchises will bring back the veterans, including cross-play with 3DS and WiiU VC. 3DS was declared dead several times before making a strong come back, I think WiiU can do the same. It’s too early to count it out. PSVITA is another story all together.
